The Club assembled at the Overstreet Landing at Lake Kissimmee Sunday May 22nd and was met with a full moon and winds blowing out of the northwest. The past weeks rainfall and constant wind had turned the lake dirty in most places but if clean water could be found bass would be there. The water level had come up about a foot and the back water areas were now opened up to the club members. Most teams reported that the bass were biting early and shut off during the afternoon.
There were some slight problems reported by the team of Jimmy Blount and Jack Berry. Jack lost a valuable rod and reel overboard as he was netting a six inch bass for Jimmy but after some skin diving he retrieved the rig from the bottom. Cliff Semonski reported that partner, Glen, was suffering with some food poisoning and could not make the trip. Where did he eat? There was a near truck seat disaster with Justin Neals partner who was glad to see the bathrooms open at Overstreet. Buddy Perry lost the use of his aerator and fill pumps on the livewell which was almost a disaster. The seventeen teams who participated, brought in thirteen limits and included one 8 plus, one 7 plus, and three over six.

First place was taken by Buddy Perry, fishing by himself he caught a limit weighing 20.98 pounds with a penalty for two dead fish. His stringer was capped off by a nice 7.10 pound lunker which was the second largest bass for the tournament. Maybe you should use some of those winnings to fix that live well for the next tournament before the penalty catches up with you.

Bill Groseclose and Fred Reid came in a close second place with a solid limit weighing 20.25 pounds including a nice 6.38 pound kicker.

Third place went to Don Hinman and Ken Winter who's 19.99 pound bag was anchored with a 6.13 pound big momma.
A single pound was the difference between the top three teams and proved to be the closest finish of the year.

Big Bass honors went to Tim Kopf who nailed a giant 8.81 pound Kissimmee bass first thing in the morning fishing the inside of Kissimmee grass near Strum Island. This is the second largest bass weigh in this year.
