Welcome to the fifth tournament of the SCBF season at the Alligator Chain of Lakes. Historically this chain of lakes has produced heartache among anglers with peak ten-pound bags and searching for slot fish meeting the minimum of twelve inches.
The day started early with 14 club boats filling the parking lot at Trout Lake ramp with a few duck hunters taking off before our safe light start at 6:52 a.m. Mother nature threw us fog so thick the lake disappeared and rendered us a late safe start at 8:25. We did come across a kayaker in a canal with no lights on their Kayak, pontoon’s, center consoles sitting in the middle of the lake with patchy fog throughout the chain of lakes. Everyone in the club fished the lengthy day and safely returned to the ramp.
Fred Reid and Dan Keyes took first and Big Bass with a five fish limit that crested the ten-pound mark. William Flood and Raymond Taylor were the monthly gift card winners provided by our long-time sponsor, Strike Zone. Take a look at results from the tournament here on the website.
Air temps 62F-86F
Patchy overcast
Winds 5-14 from the South
On a side note, with the cooler weather season, take some time for the preventive maintenance of your boating equipment. Trailer hubs, outboard water pump, lower unit lube, trolling motors, steering systems, electronics, shallow water anchors, batteries, live well and bilge systems all deserve some TLC for keeping smooth operations to get out fishing.
The club has patches for sale for $5.00 each and hats for $15.00 each in Dark and Light Gray currently. You can purchase them at upcoming tournaments. The proceeds will support our yearly BBQ/Potluck at Lake Washington in July.
