It was quite the turn out for the Space Coast Bass Finatics this season at one of their home lakes Miami Garcia. Boasting pretty much a full field, twenty nine teams showed up just weeks before christmas to see if they could find their own gifts out on the lake in the form of some giant Largemouth Bass with pretty little bows on them. They packed the parking lot full of trucks and trailers and filled up all the spots on the bank first thing in the morning. After swapping some fish stories of the ones that got away during pre fishing, the boats were launched without a hitch.

The registration was off to an early start as the first members began rolling in at the crack of dawn to grab a good parking spot and get their tackle in order.

The lake decided to produce some fish for most with eighteen teams weighing in a full five bass limit and four teams weighing in over twenty pound bags.

First place went to the team of Brian Cole and Bill Groseclose who weighed in a hefty sack of largemouth bass weighing just over twenty pounds with 20.67 pounds anchored by a 7.66 pound Poinsett stud.

Here we go again, even if there is a virus, pandemic, mandates, shortages, long lines, high prices and a lot of opinionated people. The new season put everyone on a level playing field (or lake ) and no one has the advantage. All it will take is one lucky cast or one right decision to make your day. Many returning members are ready to make this year better than the last one, along with some new members who want to fish with the best. The twenty-seven teams, who showed up at Ralph V.

The wrap up tournament for the 2020/2021 season has finally come to an end and the club can celebrate another successful year. The year saw many first with three teams ending up with a limit at every tournament, an increase in the number of members and the addition of a new lake to fish. There were many challenges to overcome such as, medical problems, weather, travel, equipment and just plain old bad luck. The officers and the club members had to deal with them all which makes the club better, stronger and more diverse. No other bass club in central Florida can match this club.

The club arrived at Miami-Garcia impoundment Sunday morning in Fellsmere with 25 teams, to find the lake level slightly down but not bad, the wind had subsided, weather report looking good, mosquitos out in force and the hydrilla and pads growing at a fast rate. I guess SJRWM had not got the word and started spraying yet. The morning check-in went along as usual except for a few stragglers who arrived very late and made the job of the secretary very hard and more confusing than usual.

SCBF compete at Three Forks Marsh for the first time.

This year was the first time the Space Coast Bass Finatics added Three Forks Marsh to their annual roster. Twenty two teams managed to squeeze into the basin by the boat ramp before carefully taking off. Everyone did a great job of safely navigating the tight waters without any incident. With many different places to fish in the marsh it seems that Sattori ended up being the place to be. The teams who were brave enough to navigate the treacherous trail south towards Sattori through the trees faired the best resulting in four of the top five finishes.

Twenty one teams embarked on the journey down to Harney Pond Canal boat ramp to try out their luck this year on the Big "O". Hopes were high just as the water was compared to the couple years prior. There wasn't much sleep had for the few who lucked into an all night fish fry outside their room complete with corn hole and a mens choir singing together in tune, unless you were like Clayton and just stayed out all night before the tournament. The wind was fair and steady all weekend but not too bad and the water temperature was hanging out around a comfortable 74 to 78 degrees.
